Mac Mini, Late 2012.
I remember appearing a couple of times even before Catalina.

It appears to be some kind of graphics error. The Mini is not known to develop graphics problems like older MacBook Pros and some iMacs. I would guess it could be the cable you're using to attach your monitor to the Mini. Change out the cable to check.

Thank you, I will see what I can do. It was with the DP cable.

there
IF you have a macbook, you could network and share screen
were you use the macbook as a screen from the mini
this way you can detect and see what the mini displays.
if you get my drift.

ah, hopefully it's the chord, i cant see the mini not showing a half-good screen.
The distortion/noise/whatever it is, doesn't stay there. It leaves after a while. Also, it doesn't always appear.
