I guess maybe I am just not familiar with the “dark olive” sport loop. It looks kind of light gray? Not even remotely close to the Dark Olive Sport Band I guess :)

Might just be the light in the picture, it does look quite like the storm grey loop but that didn't come in 38mm AFAIK.

Other people's pictures are similar of Dark Olive - https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch...ark_olive_sport_loop_is_basically_light_grey/
FWIW Storm Grey does come in 38/40mm too. Edit, never mind - it does come in 40mm but there's no explicit 38mm version!

Yeah I was surprised when I got my Dark Olive loop - definitely not the colour I was expecting! The light greyish threads really dominate.

Ohhh I thought it was newer than the 38/42 bands

Ah sorry I see what you mean now! Thought you meant it didn't come in smaller sizes full stop. Yes, Storm Grey indeed didn't come in explicit 38mm version, though of course the 40mm is compatible with 38mm watches. I didn't see the 40mm label in OP's pics which you were referring to.

Yes Dark Olive, which actually is closer to cigarette ash gray as denoted by how ‘grayish white’ it looks in sunlight.

Very good photo to give you an example (source /u/mrwcs on Reddit):

Yeah, it’s not storm grey for sure. I cannot say what it is, other than that.
I have a 40mm storm grey from the release date of the S4 AW. I do not believe it was released while the 38mm AWs were out. New only as of a year ago. S

I have both dark olive and storm grey and this is definitely dark olive as above posters have said.

With the first wave of sport loop releases, the colour names seem to refer to the edge stitching and the lug.
