the link that was posted up there ^ was for a generic set up to your TV, but if you have a HD/EDTV you might want to consider other options

since macbook pro already has a dvi, the best would be to get a dvi to hdmi cable
or if you have no hdmi ports but vga, dvi to vga

Just got a macbook pro 2.3 with 2 gig ram and it's incredible. Been reading these forums for years, have had 3 macs before but this one is so great that I had to join and get in on the discussions.

I hooked it up to my 32" samsung lcd tv with the included dvi-vga connector after reading a lot about the process, and the hassle of converting to hdmi (overscan, resolution problems). The quality is great with VGA! Browsing (wireless keyboard and trackball mouse - good for the couch) itunes show downloads, itunes coverflow all look great. Installed remote buddy to make the jukebox style view in itunes easy to navigate with apple remote too. Installed the work around for playing ripped dvd's with front row and starting a movie collection by ripping with mac the ripper. It's the set-up I've been wanting for a long time and it's working flawlessly. After scrounging for info on various sites and forums I had to post...let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
