I remember what got updated last year but not exactly when. Did it happen simultaneously with the release of Lion, or did they announce Airs and mini's day before.

Just hanging on to the last bit of hope if there's something new coming today.

There's this little webpage called Wikipedia. It can tell you when products were launched....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSX#Version_10.7:_.22Lion.22
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_Mini#Specifications_3

But I'll summarize for you: They happened on the same day and Apple updates the App store overnight (US time), so if you didn't see an update already it isn't happening today.

20 July 2001. For me it was a perfect storm.

I'd never had any usage of a Mac at all but my frustration with Windows machines was really growing. I decided to go the eBay route and get a used unit to just test the waters. I had just gotten an iPhone a month or so earlier so my appetite was pretty wet.

The same day the Lion and the new Mini came out I had just lost a auction for a nice refurb unit. Actually the Apple email announcing the new units came right then, and I considered it fate.

And haven't looked back. As much as I like using it for usual computing tasks, it's totally changed how I enjoy entertainment. I use Plex and 2 Rokus and it's awesome having my content all thru my house.

I don't know how you got an iPhone in 2001, but Apple will be calling you any minute now to get that prototype :D
