What do you guys like for SSDs?

My new Mac Mini should be delivered today. Additional RAM next week.

I'm seriously considering swapping out the 5400rpm HD for an SSD.

What do you guys like for SSDs in these things? Do I want SATA II or III? Any other things I be sure to look for? Or avoid?

A SSD is the best thing you can do to increase speed in my opinion.

Samsung 830 or Crucial M4 seem to be the most reliable.

I agree with this. While Most of my drives are Sandforce based drives and I haven't had any problems with them, many have. The Samsung 830 can be had super cheap right now since they are bringing out the 840's. You just can't go wrong with Samsung drives.

I've read good things about the Samsungs 830 and Crucial M4 series. I ordered an OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD. I hope I don't run into any issues with it. It's got good benchmarking reviews so fingers crossed.

Very happy Samsung 830 customer here. Had an intel for a while, which I returned. Write speeds went up 200mb/s and read 100mb/s.

Been reliable so far, installed for three months.

I'm happy - very happy - with my 830.

Does anyone know if the 840 and 840 Pro supplant the 830, or if they're additions to the line?

There are some really nice prices for the 830 right now, but I've been assuming that these are just to clear out the existing stock of 830s, but I could be wrong on that...
