I'm planning to buy a 12.9 iPad Pro soon and I'm wondering about how much space to buy. The 256 GB model seems like the obvious choice because the premium is not huge, but looking at my current 64 GB Air 2, there is still 40 GB free after plenty of apps.

What do you put on your iPads to make use of all that storage?

I don’t use near all the space either (25 GB left), but I think people use it for videos/movies mainly, especially 4K video editing.

Edit: forgot to say I have a 64GB. I had 32 GB with my Air and I was running out, but with this I’ve got plenty.

I've got about 80GB left on my 256GB 10.5. It is mostly taken up by movies and comics. At first I got the 64GB thinking that i didn't mind having my movies and comics in the cloud, and just downloading one when i wanted to access it offline. But when i thought about the price to go up to 256GB it just seemed like a much better value, that also allowed me to not have to worry about future storage problems.

I have well over 256 GB of movies, TV shows, graphic novels, comics, photos/images, music (ALAC and MP3) and other PDFs, which is why I chose the 512 GB over the 256 GB.

I went the 256 gig as well. My previous iPad had 128 gig on it and I was using about 80 for movies, games, photos, recorded songs and misc documents. I could have squeezed down to 64 but the price differential was not enough to do that - and I have room for growth.
