Tell me the biggest difference switching from PC to Mac.

Thank You!:p

Tell me the biggest difference switching from PC to Mac.

Off the top of my head:

Never having to shut down the system (reboots after updates aside)

No fear while surfing.

Nice free application selection (NeoOffice as a replacement for MS Office a biggie for me)

Love the iSight and iChat integration!! . Video phone...yea. Ive got one. It rocks.

Get to play with Unix and play WoW at the same time!!

Im sure Ill think of more.

The Mini is great. Small. Fast. Portable if you need it to be. Can be hooked to a TV as media center. Front Row is awesome. Great as a starter machine. Get the higher end model with the superdrive, once you discover iLife you will be using iPhoto iTunes iMovie iDVD even iWeb all the time. Best thing is that things just work. Boots up in seconds. Responsive. Get 1 or 2GB RAM, it's worth it. Get a Ministack v2 from OWC and add a 2nd harddrive and more Firewire and USB ports.

A bit off topic but do you not need any form of internet security(not anti-virus, just firewall etc) on Mac OS X?

That's right. In all the years I've had Macs I have never needed anti-virus or anything to protect my computer and I have never had a virus. Spyware cannot be installed without your permission.

the mini was my first Mac. it was great to use it to switch since i already had a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. once i got my MBP i gave the mini to my parents and they liked it so much they just bought an iMac.

i bought it because i was tired of scanning Windows for viruses, spyware, etc. and worrying about the security flaws. OSX is just an easier operating system to use, too, mainly because it just does what you need it to do.

The first Mac I ever owned and still only own is a PPC Mac Mini. I brought it around Feb 2005 and never had a problem with it.

I love the fact that it's so small and doesn't take up that much room since I have a 20" ACD. I love surfing the web on it and listening to music on iTunes. I've thought about updating to the Intel Mac Mini but the PPC Mac Mini is going to be a collector's item, I think.
