Hi,

i have read a large number of thread about iCloud email, actually i'm using my Apple ID with my ISP email, but from the 1 march I need to change the mail, because i change the ISP and the provider will close my actually email.

Now I have different solution, all the account are mine and registered to me:

info@namesurname.com (yes I have this domain actually not used)
name_surname@outlook.com
name.s.surname@gmail.com (.s. = second name initial)
name.s.surname@icloud.com

What do you like more?

I prefer to use iCloud. Mainly because Apple isn't scanning my emails for ads. Their commitment to privacy is appealing and they just added end to end encryption for those accounts that support it. This is a great read, from Tim Cook himself, about what is important to Apple. Some of it is marketing hype, I'm sure, but I think they truly believe in security at their essence.

Having said that, iCloud mail is spartan and basic, and they have had long standing issues with silent filtering of certain emails.

A separate thread has fans of Gmail and Outlook as well. Google scans emails - Outlook says they don't. There are growing legions of Outlook.com fans. I suggest you try them all and pick the one you like the most.

I'm asking only what is your favorite username :)

Thanks for the explain about iCloud, interesting how they manage our privacy

#1 by a mile. . and _ cause confusion and miss-typing. Also telling (speaking) someone you address is more complicated with . and _.

Mine is my initials @ namesurname.com, example: jd @ johndoe.com (remove spaces).
