Hi, I have an iPhone 6S space gray 64 GB version.

I was wondering, what do you take pictures of?

I don't take many pictures, but would like to start.

Also, do you back and look at them?

I don't go back and look at the photos I've taken.

I take pictures of things, people, places, or events that I want to remember or share with others. Yes, I do go back and look at them.

I think this is true of most people.

Kids and pets, mostly. Family gatherings, vacations. I share them with family members as I'm sort of the family paparazzi. I don't often look at them, myself, because it's getting harder to look at the kids the way they were, the closer I get to an empty nest. I prefer to live in the present, for the moment. I'm recording these for other people mostly. I have so few pictures and absolutely no movies of my own childhood so I want the kids to have something to remember their childhoods by. I'm rarely in the family pictures or videos myself so oddly enough they won't have much to remember me by.

This definitely ranks up there with the strangest posts I've ever seen on this forum. You take pics but never go back to look? Seriously? What's the point then. And wondering what people take pics of? Could be anything. You said you don't take pics but don't go back to look at ones you took. Which one is it?

It's actually not that strange if someone is very new to photography. Very often their pictures are of scenes or objects that hold little interest to them once the initial experimentation is past. I am going through this myself right now with learning how to handle the DSLR I got for Christmas. A lot of my pics are random throwaways for practice.

What?

Are you human? These sound like questions posed by some kind of artificial intelligence.

Follow up questions:

"What is love?"
"Why do your eyes leak?"
"What is this thing you call kissing?"

Wow, lots of different things.

I take photos to quickly message or email to friends just to document something. For example, I have a friend who likes cars so if I see a Mclaren or Lamborghini I shoot him a photo.

I share pictures with my brothers and sisters if I bake a pie or something unusual.

I take quick photos to document small parts for work.

I photograph things like serial numbers on machines. It's easier than writing them down.

To generalize, I take photos largely to document things for other people, not so often for long term memories.

If you only do everything on a phone - as many do now, they're tying one hand behind them for the immediate convenience's sake.

I go back to old photos a lot. I try re-editing / re-processing them (which is once again not as possible on a crappy cameraphone) re-arrange them into albums, re-upload / re-share, etc.

Is it because you only have them on your phone? If so, you may want to consider organizing them elsewhere or on your phone using a free program so as to make them easier to view.

We're basically actors in a Matrix prequel.

i usually use my camera phone for documenting my trips and using video. For my photography, there are photos i have taken in 2011 i haven't edited yet. takes time for them to grow on me, and sound weird, but i need to be in the mood to edit.

This is a really strange thing to post in a photography forum. Obviously we care about the photos we take. Look at the Photo of the Day thread (POTD) for what we like to photograph.

It's fine if you aren't interested in photography. It's fine if you don't care about photos you've taken in the past.

If you have an interest in photography, this is a pretty welcoming community to answer questions, steer you in a good direction going forward, or provide examples of what enthusiasts and pros produce either in their spare time or for their livelihood.

I mainly take pictures of our dog, my fiancée, and vacation spots that we visit. Especially the vacation photos, I do go back and look at them. My DSLR images, not so much (unless they're printed out and hanging on the walls at home).

The heart of my entertainment system is a Mac Mini that hosts our iTunes library. It also holds our photo collection, and the screensaver is set to a slideshow. This means that, a good portion of the time, our collected photos are cycling on our TV in our living room. It's quite hypnotic, and beats the heck out of passing around a shoebox full of prints, like we used to do.

Photos of the dogs, deer, interesting looking flowers that I see while walking the dog. I take photos of what I and co-workers create on whiteboard so i can refer back to the images at my desk. Photos of individuals committing crimes that i then share with the media.

As I've become far more occasional and casual than I used to be, I photograph literally what I can get my hands on and whenever the mood takes me. Which is usually my lovely girlfriend whenever we're out and about, or on holiday. I basically use my skills to get fancier holiday snaps than everyone else ahaha. She's very patient.
