I much prefer Smart3G+LTE. BDP is cool, but depending what side of the issue you're on it has quirks or major problems.
One rumor is that it phones home to China.. But that may just be innocent. Up to you to decide.

I read on a website (don't ask what website) that this app requests some connections to jaban, someone installed firewall ip from cydia and this app connects to many IPs in Japan and uses data, so thanks everyone for answers, I convinced myself that this app is dangerous, malware and that's why it is free.
i think its one of the best tweaks in cydia.
in short: it replaces auxo, ncsettings, icleaner. its free, and it just works.
more elaborate version: auxo is full of compatibility problems and bugs - people report. and its not free. with bdp you can switch between apps, terminate them or white list them from the NC or a SB widget.
it has more toggles and looks much better than ncsettings (including cleaning RAM and what not).
aside from all this, it has a cool battery charging indicator for the lockscreen, alarms for battery charge complete; battery charge records, junk files cleaner, and so on.
i've never had a single glitch with this tweak.

I guess my opinion is mixed.
I like it in a lot of ways. It's never given me any problems (except that some NC functions aren't effective on the iPad--respring and reboot produce a slider that does nothing). NC settings doesn't have enough options for my tastes, and I like the idea of having indoor/outdoor/sleep profiles. It's very clean looking in use, and the app interface is well thought out for the most part.
But neither do I think it actually *improves* battery life overall. I'm not sure it's beneficial at all from that standpoint, actually. My Max Capacity on the two devices that ran it for the last few months is lower than I think it should be by comparison with other iDevices I've owned. I don't like the idea that it's "calling home" and using data in doing so.
Today I took it off both the iP5 and the iPad Mini, putting SBSettings back on in its place so I'd still have toggles for convenience. I'll check the battery stats with Battery Detective for a bit instead and see if anything changes.

I actually like it a lot, but the fact that I manually have to switch profiles irritated me. Which is why I went with Smart 3G+LTE.
That tweak autosenses a WiFi network. If it detects that you're on a network it shuts down the cellular radio (including LTE). You can tell Smart 3G+LTE to leave 1xRTT (or Edge) on though. You can also tell it to default to that when you lock the screen. That still allows SMS/MMS/Email to come through, but you aren't using 3G, so less battery consumption. When you leave the WiFi network, Smart 3G+LTE switches the 3G and LTE radios back on.
Finally, you can make exceptions for certain apps so that they always use 3G while the screen is locked.
You can't do any of this automatically with BatteryDoctorPro.

This has replaced SBsettings for me and a few other programs as well. separate settings for work and home are nice. I love it

no one is forcing you to use BDP. if you feel uncomfortable with what you read on a blog, dont use it.
many people use BDP and the reason you dont find abundant criticism is because most find it useful and works well. if you are looking all over the web and reading on obscure blogs to find reasons not to install it then you probably shouldn't.
i was aware of this claim about sending information to china when i got it. if its true (and that is a big IF because aside from this blogger's accusation - which has been reposted elsewhere including here - ive never seen screenshots of anything) ive nonetheless concluded that the pros of this tweak are worth it.
at this point its common knowledge that the government, microsoft, google, yahoo and every IT company in between spies on you, on your emails and your text messages. i can live with sending a few 'analytics' to the dev.
as for the CDMA bug, you could contact the dev to verify this claim, or other people here. this app gets updated frequently and that issue could have been fixed by now.

Ok, thanks for your answer, I am gonna risk and install it, even if they collect info about me it's not like I have nuclear codes, it's just that I've heard, and this time on macrumors, that it phones to china and uses your data and that post is actually a comment from a regular user from a very well known blog about apple.
I have to dispute this. Yes, BDP did this to me once or twice when I had it installed. But toggling the 3G button off/on took care of it.
Maybe it's just me but other than that issue and the fact that I had to manually switch profiles, this tweak was ok for me.
