Well so i was in the store..seen this cooling pad..that i tried in the store..the fans are very quite no noise at all..and its aluminium body is very sleek and looks cool..it got an extra usb anyway so im not losing a usb port while using it... theres the LINK please look at it and tell me if its good enough =D

btw: is it ok to buy the pad even before using the laptop...will i for sure need it with my 2.2ghz mbp as im going to be using it at home for real long time(5-7 hrs a day)?!

and i saw this pad as well>> LINK

Please dont try to recommend another model..cause only those 2 are available here, thanks :)

What I would be curious to know is how noisy the fans are in cooling pads with fans? I know that they would use your battery, but what about noise level?
the fans are very very quite...i tried them in the quite store and got my ear close to the fans..and it was very very quite =)..thats the first most thing made me love it...

I'm actually considering fabricating one that looks just like that for fun/use if it comes out well. It doesn't seem too difficult to make and it looks pretty cool :p

Yah it looks cool, but anyway it was very noisy...and just wonder which would be better to keep the laptop cool..the glass or the aluminium??

Thanks for the answer because if they were noisy it would drive me crazy! I sure do likes the looks of it.

yup i love the look of it...but do you think that the front edge of the pad might close the CD driver in the mbp? or scratch the cds when ejecting them?!

Well I am not very good at judging by photos sometimes, but I don't think it looks like it would. I think someone in an earlier thread said that they actually have this unit, but I don't remember if any thing was mentioned about the superdrive.

I use my 2.16 C2D on my lap all night with no stand. It gets warm, but nowhere near so hot its uncomfortable. I say try it before you buy the stand. I really think only the CD MBP's had heat issues.

Anyone know which is best to be a cooling pad material??

Plastic/Aluminium/Glass??

Aluminum, because it will conduct heat away from the laptop.

You want to avoid any insulating materials, as that will only bring the temperature up. This is also why it's just plain bad to put a laptop directly on a mattress or pillow, both of which not only insulate, but block airflow.
