So I am most excited about the completely new Apple Watch Bands. I am glad that there are 3 new versions and even though they are designed for the Ultra, I am sure they will look good on the regular models.

Trail Loop: Definitely the most exciting band of the 3 for me. It feels like an upgrade from the sport loop, like the braided solo loop to the solo loop. I like the colours, especially the black/orange. I feel like it is a missed opportunity to only offer it with a titanium buckle. I know these bands are specifically designed for the AW Ultra, but there are still a lot of regular AW owners.

Alpine Loop: This looks like a nice band, some say the material feels like paper, so i am excited to try it on. the orange one looks amazing and can be a big style statement during everyday wear.

Ocean Buckle: Looking at this band, I am definitely not at the targeted demographic. It is cool that there is a band specifically for divers, but it looks to cumbersome to wear outside. I feel like this is the most niche band apple has ever done.

What is your opinion on these new, exciting bands?

All things being equal I would have got the black trail band but it was back ordered so I went with the orange alpine and will try the other later.

I do like the bands too! Amazing.

But for me it's really hard to decide which length to choose from.

Especially for the Trail loop with it's G-Hook. There's a big chance that the G-Hook is within this area where my wrist touches my Macbook. And I don't know what will happen, when a titanium hook does touch my aluminium Macbook all the time.

Don't want to have scratches on my Macbook. So I'm thinking about choosing a shorter or longer band/loop. And not the ideal length.

I'm sure those new bands will be popular and probably look better in person, but they honestly do not interest me. I did, however, buy the Storm Blue sports loop.

Would have got the Trail Loop if it was shorter delivery time, so ended up ordering the Ocean Band. I thought the Alpine Band looks nice, but the locking mechanism seems like a hassle.

Btw. Aliexpress now sell the the Trail Loop and Alpine Band for around $10.

Ordered it with the orange alpine loop mostly because of shipping times but trail loop seems better.

This watch gives me luxury diver watch vibes like (the goat) Rolex Submariner and Breitling Ocean (or whatever it's called). There's a few other ones too that look similar.

In this respect I would have hoped it came with the option of a titanium or metal link band in the same style as the case since it heavily draws inspiration from that style of watch to me.

edit: googled and realized this possibly exists for example https://nomadgoods.com/products/metal-band-titanium-silver-44mm - would be interesting to see if it color matches the Ultra. It should, if it's natural color.

I like the solidity of the locking system on the Alpine (that’s what I ordered with my Ultra), and the Trail looked good too. The ocean one seemed very targeted to divers. I personally would just use a Nike sport loop for regular swimming.

I really like all of them. I purchased the Ultra with the white ocean band so I can get it on launch day. However, I also ordered the blue ocean band, the orange Alpine band and now that it's finally back on Apples site, the black/grey trail band.

Before the event - I knew I wanted a rugged, sporty looking 'pro' Apple Watch.

To me the Ocean band is the only one that gives me both of those vibes to go with the watch.

Plus, as someone who's been wearing the sport bands for like 4 years and they work fine for hiking etc I'm not anticipating the Ocean band to be any worse or better when it comes to fit.

It's going to be fun when people start posting photos of their watches with the bands they've chosen!

I'm interested in the ocean band for one obscure use case.

I wear wristbands when doing weight lifting but would like to keep the watch on (i use the watch in combination with an HRM strap). I can't use the Workout app with the watch off because it just pauses the activity which is super annoying. I haven't found a suitable 3rd party strap to circumvent the problem. I'm also one of those people that just can't be bothered to change straps every day.

So I'm hoping that the ocean band might do the trick being designed to also allow usage with a thick wetsuit (via the extension) would be similar to me with my workout straps. However I haven't seen a single picture of how the ocean band extension would look like.

It's just a longer version of the part the buckle attaches too.

I wonder how the Trail Loop behaves when you sweat while running? Does it soak up sweat or is it sweat repellent?

I have a plastic wristband on my Fenix 3. I wash it under water after trail running, dry it with a towel and that's it.

I suspect this won't work with the Trail Loop, will it?

My exact concern, and also why I opted for the ocean band. I sweat way too much when working out and couldn’t risk a band that may soak up sweat, so the ocean band felt like the safest bet for now.

The ocean looks ugly 😛

I think the best would be a Nike Sportband with holes.

As was the case with the leather loop, once again the 41 mm have been forgotten 😞
I would love that trail loop for my running training.

I saw a video and it stayed wet after for quite a while. I have an alpine loop and it also stays wet but dries fairly quickly. I’m getting a white ocean to check out as I love the silicone band my fenix has

Wish I could weigh in on the trail loop but it's kinda the unicorn band for now. I suspect they are super comfortable. I'll order the yellow/beige one when they come in stock.

I have the ocean band in midnight. It's very bulky and I don't like the traditional closure. I'm just used to the nike sports band with that pin and tuck closure and the holes for breathability.

I have a green alpine loop coming this week. I've tried them in stores and I think this one looks especially nice with the Ultra and fits nicely on the wrist when you get the right size.

Currently rocking my old nike sport band with my Ultra. Still the king for sweaty workouts.

I have the yellow Ocean loop. I like it, despite not liking buckles in general. It's comfy. The buckle is just slow.

orange Alpine coming tomorrow.

Still really curious about the Trail loop since it looks closest to the Sports loop.

All these bands are overpriced. Even at half they would be too much.

Once you get used to strapping the ocean band you won’t want to go back to the cloth bands. I hate having a wet band after running you cannot fully clean them unless you wash them in the washing machine or do a heavy sink and soap wash. I thought I wouldn’t like the traditional strap on the AW but it’s nice.
