What do you think the new base Airs will consist of?

I think they will come with gravitational refactors that manipulate particle acceleration wich in turn creates temperal waveforms within the spacetime continuum.
Nah, Apple makes way too much profit off people upgrading from 2GB to 4GB. It's a $100 upgrade that costs them <$5. Besides, most MBA users (I would safely guess) very rarely push 2GB. It would be silly for Apple to make 4GB standard, from an economical standpoint.
We'll probably still see 64GB/128GB standard on the 11"/13" respectively, I would guess. I don't think SSDs have come down enough in price for them to shove a 128GB into the 11", sell it at $999, and keep their profit margins. But meh, who knows.
Totally agree with this one. Low end will be the slowest sandy bridge processor with the same config as the current gen. But with HD facetime and Thunderbolt added. That is my guess.

I think 4GB is a fair bet - Lion is probably going to need even more RAM than Snow Leopard, and 4GB is rapidly becoming the standard that Apple sell. They'll accept the slight cost hit.
128GB as standard? No way. The bottom end 11" will still rock a 64GB SSD to allow Apple to keep the price down. I doubt you'll be able to get the 256GB model in the 11" either, just like now.
FaceTime HD and Thunderbolt are a given.
Peskaa, I adore your avatar. Other than that, I also think you're right on the money. But how about CPU's? Will they really put in the lowest end SB's? I don't think so tbh, I think they'll go for i5/i7, but with lower TDP than those in 13" MBP.

There is just one thing I can truly predict about it: It will have an Apple Logo on it somewhere. See what I did there. The only 100% safe predication about a new MacBook Air...
Although I'd also put my money on 2GB remaining the standard Air config. Although 4GB would be nice. And probably the lowest-end ULV Sandy Bridge Processor with FaceTime HD. Although they might go from 64 to 128 and 128 to 256 SSDs in the low-end Airs just because it would be a nice feature bump, and would mean they might be able to get away with getting rid of the MacBook. Which is where the real debate lies.

Judging from the recent Macbook Pro and iMac configurations, I'll guess the standards for RAM and SSD storage space remains the same as well in the Air refresh. I hope I am wrong though.
I don't think it'll be the bottom end of the CPUs - but then there's not that many ULV/LV CPUs to chose from in the first place. It'll be i5 and i7 for sure though.
Other than SB and TB port I'm not really expecting any changes.
If SB manages significantly better batter life while maintaining adequate video performance and/or a 256gb SSD is offered I might be tempted. I'd bite on 6 or 8gb of RAM. But most likely I'll be sticking with my 2010 and upgrade it to a 240gb SSD. Only the 11.6 really interests me, but some of the family MBPs are getting a little long in the tooth so the 13" may be of interest there if enough RAM is offered and SB graphics are good enough.
Hopefully we'll see next week!
