I want to clean all of the smudge marks and everything. What do you use to clean the aluminum and what do you use to clean the screen?

Thanks guys.

I bought some alcohol-free wipes @ Wal mart, in the compy section, for $2. They work on the screen and the aluminum. My girl is sparky clean.

I'll bet any of the iKlear products would work on the Aluminum (it's all the same formula). The liquid is certainly safe for the screen.

I bought the iklear for MBP but have not tried using it yet. It is meant to be safe for the screen as well as the case.....

I use iKlear. It's handy, you can use it anywhere on your laptop (just make sure its turned off, obviously). It does a great job at cleaning streaks and finger prints, just make sure you wipe them off as directed.

The cloth that comes with the iKlear package is decent as well. They even throw in some travel wipes. Definitely worth it.

fingerprints

for fingerprints, i just use a damp microfiber cloth, whipe softly, then whipe softly with a dry cloth

A paper towel soaked in soap and water. I generally wash my hands before I use my computer and I never eat or drink near it, but that's just me.

I use iKlear too, and love it. I can be sure that I'm using a product that'll clean without damaging since it's made for exactly that use. It comes with a nice big cloth, as well as travel wipes and a travel size cloth. I use it once a week or so to get smudges off and it keeps the computer looking brand new!! I used it on my dads two year old PB which he cleaned once about six months ago and it took a LOT of rubbing but it came perfectly clean! So it works with little smudges or months worth. And you can use it on the whole thing, screen and casing (except not trackpad, at least not with the liquid, just the dry cloth).

I use these two products for cleaning the screen. I swear to you peeps, it was the best $20 I ever spent in my life; an absolute superb product. :)

For the aluminium since it is in fact a metal, I'd spray some WD-40 on a paper towel (not directly onto the computer) and wipe it down. Followed by a dry paper towel. I only buy viva paper towels because they are the softest.

Side Note!

NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR AMONIA ON LCD SCREENS!

does this mean the whole apple case is plastic????? the sides seem pretty hard...

Definately not, way too hard (I think). Try tapping with your fingernail end on diff parts & you can really feel the difference ;) (there's probably a much easier way to check tho )

oh yea.. the reason its true is cauz if i scrape my speaker connector up it sparks. hahahaha...

With aluminium, just about anything will be OK. I just use a damp microfibre cloth. Works just fine....

Same here. It works just fine (esspecially since I'm super anal about washing hands and stuff:))

I use those disposable face-wipes (for greasy teenagers like me) for my PowerBook's case and screen, but first i rinse them out and squeeze most of the water out. When I'm done I dry it with a towel. Works pretty well.
