Id like a file system for apps, to organize them in categories.
I believe so. They can only play in their own little 'sandbox' of file-space, I believe the most they can do in the way of affecting the homescreen is changing their own icon (i.e., adding the bubble showing a number of messages waiting, tasks to be done, etc.). Anything on the order or reordering the homescreen would involve access to parts of the filesystem that they're quite certainly not allowed to modify.possibly one that automatically can reorder them on the homescreen to sort by either date downloaded, or alphabetically. that would rock big.
is it against apple's agreement for developers to make this sort of app?

You guys know that you can reorder apps on your home screen (or any screen for that matter) by placing your finger on the app until it jiggles, then dragging them around wherever, right?
My thoughts were something more like a folder hierarchy... Like a "Games" icon, and when you click it, it opens a new window with 9 possible pages of games apps. Something like that would be great.
How about playing catch up to the Palm Pre? I doubt it since copy/paste and push cannot even get out the door.
