I'm not behind schedule, but, as the title suggests, I'm wondering when I should expect my iPad. Ordered last Saturday, so 7 days is up but I haven't received any shipping notification... but I guess 7 business days are not up, so no worry.

I figure many of you have gone through the same wait, so your input is appreciated.

Thinking further (obsessing?), if they're telling me when it's shipping, then why do business days matter? Don't tell me they're only running their factory 5-6 days a week (I'd guess 24/7 given the insane demand). Maybe the shipping companies only accept outgoing packages Mon-Sat or something?

More likely, and here's the tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, they really mean 7-9 days but think it sounds better and will encourage sales to say 5-7 business days, when in fact days of the week have nothing to do with it. Something akin to $499.00 voodoo price psychology.

I'm in exactly the same boat. Ordered a 3G 32GB in the morning on May 1. No change to the order status yet. I am hoping for an update on Monday. Most of my Apple orders have arrived here, on the West Coast, the day after they were shipped. I'm hoping for a Tuesday delivery.

If I were ordering a normal Apple product that they have in stock in a warehouse in California, then next-day makes sense. But this will ship China, right?

In another tab I'm working through the 'Apple Retail Stores run dry' thread, where they are debating whether it's being flown or shipped in cargo containers across the Pacific. I've understood it's the former, but I'm not totally sure.

Oh I didn't read my Order Acknowledgment very closely - delivers May 11-15. Still says same thing online, 6 days later, hasn't yet shipped.

My 32gb 3G was ordered may 2nd and just changed to prepared for shipment this morning. I'm hoping that means ill have it by this Friday.

My 32GB 3G, ordered on the 1st, just changed status to "prepared for shipment. Delivery is May 11-15. Looks like something is finally happening over there.

Ordered a 16/3G on the 4th of this month. Nothing yet. My delivery window says 12-18th May.

West coast: specifically, Emeryville, CA. Apple Store, I ordered mine Monday and it arrived Friday.

I was just checking this thread. And I'm noticing a lot of the 32Gb ipads are starting to see a little movement now. I ordered a 16Gb May 3 and mine still states, "Not yet shipped" I would bet that Apple has a specific model getting loaded at a time, then it goes to another model and so forth. That would be the reason why some people , specifically the 32GB buyers, are getting emails and we're not.

Example being, the 32GB are now starting to be loaded or prepared for shipment. And after ALL of those are loaded or prepared, the next model is loaded or prepared. And then those emails will shoot out to those respective buyers.

I've been following 2 threads and to be honest, I haven't really saw that much movement for the 16Gb ipad 3G's.

I've been checking my status like every 30 minutes.

Please let that not be true. I need mine on a flight out on the 22nd. Checked mine for the first time today.

Say, if I run into an issue requiring a swap, could I do it at the local Apple store? Will they have white boxed iPads available for replacement?

My 3G 32GB ordered on May 1st, changed status to "Prepared for Shipping" this morning. Tonight I got the Shipment Notification. It's coming To Northern CA via FedEX with an anticipated ship date of May 9 and Delivery on the 12th.

Can anyone tell us how accurate the delivery range is?

Seems this thread is mainly impatient waiters (like me) and very little experience. I realize now that the thread title should have been like the subject line of this post. Does anyone know how solid their delivery estimates are? Are they conservative?

First of all Prepared for shipment means. Theres a high chance its leaving from China. it will take u two days for the status to say shipped. When it says shipped by May 7th or What ever day it says. Thats when its leaving Hong Kong.
