An iPhone's serial number tells you a lot...
  • AA = Factory and machine ID
  • B = Year manufactured (this is simplified to the final digit, which means 0 = 2010; 1 = 2011; etc.)
  • CC = Week of production
  • DDD = Unique identifier (not the same thing as the Unique Device Identifier, or UDID)
  • EE = Model and color of device
  • F = Storage capacity of the device (S = 16GB; T = 32GB)
What does an Airpods serial number tell you? Is there anything about how genuine the airpods are? I've been looking on ebay for cheaper pairs of legitimate airpods, and the cheapest I see ships out of China/Hong Kong thoug item is based in "Serbia" $139.99 Free Shipping (https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ORIGIN...ne-Airpod-Sealed-New-Retail-Box-/332417337920), which I have no idea why China/Hong Kong can possibly offer cheaper airpods than some other countries... is there anything in the airpods serial that would tell you the country manufactured or anything to tell you whether the Airpods are legitimate or not?

[Oops, mod please move this to iPhone Accessories]

I don't know exactly what the serial number indicates. But if you wanted to know if the Airpods were legitimate, contact Apple and provide them the serial number. Apple can verify the legitimacy.

Also, I looked at the listing. Seller has a decent history and accepts returns.
