What does Apple charge for hard drive replacement?

Couldn't find any information on the internet so who here has had a hard drive replaced by Apple or a certified tech? How much did it cost?

And like..we get a 1 year tech support package from Apple no matter what right? So, after that the warranty thing is done and I can do whatever I want to my computer with no consequences because I'd have to pay them to fix it anyway?

Nope.

The hard drive you installed is not warrantied by Apple.

If you replace a non-user replacable part and break something then that damage is not covered. The harddrive is user replaceable in the MacBook (not the MacBook Pro) and the Mac Pro.

This is correct - if its in a MB, you can do it yourself (and its VERY simple.. remove 3 screws and pull... they made it so easy its comical).. If its a MBP its not replaceable by Apple - I called and asked in a store and they just won't do it... There are 3rd party vendors which will (Such as this)

It's not THAT hard to do it youself in an MBP....and they made it even easier in the latest revision of the MBP by adjusting the angles and positioning on a few of the screws! Takes me 15minutes!

yup, but like i tell everyone, dont be afraid to really pull up on the front of the keyboard to get it off, and try to do it evenly, cause it will bend, its bends back but still...and be sure to push it BACK securely (like really hard until you hear it snap back in place) or the lid woulnt close

and you MUST have a #0 screwdriver, and a T6 Torx!
