Just curious about comparing various rates, etc.

T-Mobile
MyFavs 300
400 SMS
and taxes

$49.76 per month
Give or take

$20aud/month for crappy Australian mobile plan (virgin mobile)
$10aud/month for crappy Australian GPRS internet (300mb, virgin mobile)
total of $30/month for crappy services all round

At the moment, I fire €10 in every time I run out (every 2 months or so), but when I start back travelling in October it'll cost a lot more. I'm staying on payg until I see what transpires with the iPhone.

Question to all iPhone owners

I am going to be returning to the states in January for grad school, anyway, what kind of taxes do you pay on the iPhone? Or is the $59.99 with all taxes included(well, non-state ones anyway....)

I'm on a pre-paid plan.

However, around 4 years ago (and using the old CAD --> US conversion rate), I paid around $19 USD per month for 150 Anytime minutes, and unlimited nights (ie: unlimited calling after 8 pm, I think). In fact, I may have had unlimited weekends as well. :)

Worked well for me, because during high school, most of my calls came at night and on weekends.

Last month's bill was $116 and change....that's on T-Mobile, for 4 lines sharing 700 minutes, as well as an unlimited data plan, and a few bucks worth of text messages. Not too shabby....we were paying more on suckgular for 3 lines, 800 minutes, and no data plan.

$30/month ($37 after taxes) for 1000 minutes nights/weekends, 250 minutes peak hours, 500kb/month of GPRS and unlimited text messaging.

It's decent, but unlimited data is an extra $15/month which is ridiculous.

ABout $30 a month for now. I used to be on a Sprint plan where I was paying $39.99 a month, but at the moment I am with virgin mobile and need to top up about every 20 days.

I don't pay anything but my parents pay around $180 for a tmobile account with 4 lines on it, including unlimited data and 400 text messages on my line, 2000 total shared minutes.

Family Plan

60 700 family plan mins(plus 30 for 3 more phones)
30 for my iPhone(unlimited data and 1500 texts)
15 for 1500 texts(my brother)
125 with no tax

Plus some extras(which I don't know the cost of !)

$60.00 a month Family talk plan on AT&T (actually $66-67 after all the additional fees they staple on), split $40/20 with a family member (I'm on the primary line). Cheapest family plan they offer. That's 550 Minutes, unlimited M2M, unlimited night/weekend, rollover. I don't use more than half the minutes usually and really wish I could swap unused minutes for the occasional txt message or data transfer. Like they'd ever let you do that.

Verizon National Choice Plan 450

Unlimited Night & Weekends
1000 Bonus mins
450 Anytime mins

Free internet, but uses mins [care of Hack The Razr's WAP Server]

Oh, and i get a 8% knocked off my bill every month [Business Contracts with Verizon]

Plan= $39.99, but usually averages around 45-50 with taxes and pics/texts.

Same plan here. My wife and I never go over either, even when they were the only phones we had. You have to talk A LOT to go over. By the end of the year we usually have 2000+ minutes on rollover.

I pay about $125/month after taxes and fees. Get 1300 minutes (and have about 4000 saved on rollover from the last six months, haha, the better iPhone plan (with more text messages) and stupid, stupid "government fees"

Previously w/ Verizon:

1000 anytime mins.
NO nights/weekends
NO mobile to mobile
250 text messages (+$5)
$44.98 + taxes/ fees

Now w/ AT&T (family plan shared between 4 lines):

700 anytime mins.
unlimited nights/weekends
unlimited mobile to mobile
unlimited data (iPhone +$20)
unlimited mobile to mobile SMS (+$5)
$35ish +taxes/ fees

It's cheaper w/ a ton more benefits for me to now w/ AT&T, but I've experienced pretty awful coverage. :(

I share a plan with my brother.

4000 Minutes
iPhone data ($20 + $30)
$250/month

Previously, I was alone on T-Mobile.

300 Minutes
Sidekick data
$50/month

I don't actually use 4000 minutes, I probably use less than 200 on a normal month, and probably now less because my entire family is now on at&t.

Verizon:

550 Shared Minutes ($59.99)
3 Lines ($10.00)
VCAST - Unlimited Data Minutes ($15)
Unlimited IN/500 Texting ($10)
After taxes: about $109.xx

I pay the texting part. I love my parents. :D Now if only my phone didn't hate me. Anybody got an enV they'd like to trade for an e815? ;)
