iPod What does iPod Classic do with artwork which is not square?

Hi all

I've made a good start on my ripping. I've hit a few obscurer CDs today where the artwork I want to use is not square. Things like... 650x563.

I just wondered what the Ipod does with these and whether it "rescales" them to square somehow (and if not, I wondered how they will look on the ipod).

You will have white letter boxing at the top and bottom. There is a small gray line around the album covers to begin with.

You won't feel much notice playing music with album art..
but in Album or Songs menu.. you will see black lines above and below album art.
iPOD classic with firmware 2.0.4 tries to fit album art in square.
Try resizing/ croping in 300x300/ 500/500
