Maybe I'm not understanding but the best way to turn the puter off would be going the menu bar under the apple icon and go to shut down and then clean your keyboard. To tuen back on the puter, press the button on the back. I use alcohol wipes and they never did any damage. Or you can turn the keyboard off and clean it.
