I been having this happen very randomly but I prefer to deal with it now than later.

This may happen for few seconds when the screen is being unused
or just when the screensaver may load

It can be the screensaver but it has happen in Windows when I first installed bootcamp where the graphics of Windows XP was loading did that for a few seconds then cleared up

Ignore the sounds its a game iam playing.

Anyway this happens and I wanted to know what it may be

Hey there- unfortunately, I don't have any direct knowledge of this problem, and haven't ever experienced it myself. However, it appears to me that you might have a problem with the graphics card itself, and it may need to be serviced or replaced. My guess is that because it occurs in both Windows and OSX its not a software issue.

There are some threads here on MR about MacBook /Pro owners having vertical lines in the screen due to graphics cards issues- so this may be related...?

Graphics problem

I would try reseating the video card. Completely remove the card from the slot and re-insert it. (Be sure to hold the card lock open when you remove the card.)

If that doesn't cure your problem then you need Apple tech support.

Yup, try reseating the video card. I'd say it's a Driver problem but there are no multiple sets of drivers for a Mac Pro...

A few things to do:

1.) Try the monitor on another machine, if possible.

2.) Pull the video card out and reseat it.

3.) Try another PCI-E slot and see if the problem still occurs.

If anything still goes wrong after this, call Apple and get a new card...:(

Do you have an unshielded Subwoofer or some type of speaker system close to the screen? Im not even sure that this can happen to LCDs or not.

THere is a subwoofer next to my apple computer but theres about 3 feet of distance, the Screensaver is RSS, also this happens randomly. Another problem i had before was when the screen loads and the image looks bad theres like red pixels all over the place i remember this happening in my old G4 computer. ANyway I will try separating my subwoofer away from my apple and actually resetting my graphics card but this problem HARDLY happens, like only happened three times where the graphics looked all wierd and I had this apple for about 2 weeks. Yes i have a cheap LCD monitor no name brand type problaly that can be a factor to this

and ye playing Ragnarok Online >< and the legit server tooo!!!!!!!

If the machine isnt crashing I'd say it was a problem with either the monitor or loose monitor cable connection. Try dropping the refresh rate to 60Hz and check the monitor cable is screwed in tight at both ends.
