KVM = Keyboard, Video, Mouse switch (eg, one keyboard, one monitor, one mouse, with a switch to hook it them up to a different computer)

I'm hoping to get a MBA with the refresh (1st mac, so excited!). I currently have a desktop with dual 23in (1080p if it matters) monitors, so I though I should see if I can get a KVM for it. I started looking at TigerDirect and such, there were a lot of mixed reviews and there were all pretty expensive. So does anyone here have a KVM that they use(d) and like? Or better yet, anyone ones to stay away from?

I have a similar set up at home, and personally I use Synergy. It's slightly different from a KVM in that it lets you share your mouse and keyboard to multiple computers over a network, instead of sharing the video as well. This means you can use both computers at once, on three screens, with one mouse and keyboard. Obviously the laptop screen size is very different than my two main monitors, so I usually use it for something like music that I don't need to interact with too often.

At work, we use the ones from IOGear and they've worked well for me.

The models we use are the GCS932UB and GCS932U.

I'm not sure that I want to use a network since I'll be programming on the big screen, maybe watching TV if my desktop is in Ubuntu.

I looked up reviews and they seemed unreliable with macs.

I'm currently looking at these two on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-2-Po...8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311205877&sr=1-8
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BDOR8S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I like the first one because it only needs one USB port on the host whereas the second one would require me to plugin a USB for both my keyboard and mouse which is not ideal with a laptop. The second one though, it has a lot of reviews and I feel safer buying that one. So does anyone have an advice about either one of these companies?
