I've seen this video many times, i was wondering what event it was, and where i can find a longer version?

This is when Steve killed the clones, if that helps anyone.

It had to take place in either early 1997 or around September of that year. Jobs was CEO in September (but returned to Apple in January) and by July, OS 8 was released and was not part of the cloning license which only was OS 7. OS 8 killed the current cloners since the current ones would not be able to update.

I vote for August since that was Macworld and a prime time to announce the end of the clone era.

So you're saying a Macworld in about August of 1997?

I wasn't watching keynotes back then, so I cannot say for sure, but it is my best guess based on the histories of the cloning era that I read. Jobs was the iCeo at the time and that years macworld (which was in August) would be as good of time as any to end the program that the release of OS 8 essentially ended since it was not part of the clone licensing.
