what exactly does restoring an iphone backup to ipad do?

I didnt want to restore a backup from my phone to the ipad but I couldn't see another way to get my email accounts all setup in one click so I figured what the hell and did it. it took about a minute and did absolutely nothing. no email accounts from phone. no notes from phone. no pictures from phone. and I already synced the apps from itunes so that didnt come from the phone either lol. what the hell does it even do? is there an easy way to get all the email accounts from my iphone on my ipad easily? I have like 4 and dont feel like looking up everything for each one.

go through all the sync options you want and sync it.

I think you kind of answered your own questions. It didn't restore anything. I think you need to sync those from your computer not restore from an iPhone backup.

Well I don't have any of my email setup on my computer. Rare times I use my desktop for email I just use the websites. Why shouldn't it sync the email accounts? When I restore the backup on my phone the accounts are back. So don't act like it's a stupid question.

yes I did that but as I said none of my emails are setup on my computer so as far as email gos it just says "no supported email application found"

then sync your iphone and make sure all the data is moved to the computer

The iPad and the iPhone are two different devices, running different apps and running a different version of the OS. I wouldn't expect a backup of one to work at all on the other.

If you don't have your info on your computer to sync it with the iPad, you'll have to do it manually. You can open the settings on your iPhone to use as a guide if you need to.
