So I am relatively new to most things Apple. Switched to Mac last year, now I have an assortment of Apple products (see signature line).

What exactly is the history/meaning of the pineapple logo? I first noticed one in the Handbrake icon, then again when I jail-broke my first iPhone. I assume it is associated with various Mac hacks, but is there a story behind the meaning?

HandBrake's icon is a cocktail reference (after writing it say's "Put that cocktail down. You're HandBrake encode is complete!" wherein Pwnage put a twist on the Apple logo and made it a 'Pine'apple. I loved the concept.
