was curious as to exactly what kind of stuff or files are being backedup on my iphone, when i use this option under itunes preferences?

i lost all my sms, notes, google bookmarks, favorites, some voicemail, alarm clocks, world clocks, widget settings, etc when i had to perform a restore today. somehow when i updated to 1.0.2 my phone froze in the middle of updating the firmware so i had to pull the plug and restar the phone. that could've caused it.

because when i updated to 1.0.1, i also had to do a restore, but all my stuff was left alone... however this time it was all gone...i'm guessing its most likely because of my phone freezing up in the middle of the firmware update that caused me to lose all that. cause normally that wouldn't happen.

can someone confirm this?

is iPhone backup a mac only feature?

Can't seem to find it in the Windows version.

EDIT:

Nevermind it's right there under the iPhone tab in Preferences.

Text messages, settings, contacts, call log... et cetera.

It's safe to say "everything but the camera roll."
