With no solid rumours about AirPods Max 2, if they ever happen what would you like to see?

For me:

  • No more 'bra' case, but I would like a nice standard case included that full encloses/protects them, possibly with an integrated charging port to charge them whilst they're in the case.
  • Ability to fully power down without being in the case
  • USB-C instead of lightning
  • Separate 3.5mm jack (or an included USB-C to 3.5mm cable instead of a £35 lightning to 3.5mm cable!)
  • Better compatibility with third-party cables (only Apple's lightning -> 3.5mm cable works with a PS5 controller for example)
  • 30-40+ battery life
  • New colours - graphite instead of Space Grey
  • Rubber edge around the lower rim of the cups so when the two cups make contact it isn't metal on metal
  • Improved control system

A little bit lighter would be nice, but most everything else I've come to live with and enjoy if not love.

A way to power them down fully would be good, but that would seem do-able with just a long press on the crown (no new buttons/switches).

Including the special lightning to 3.5mm cable would be nice. I begrudgingly bought that and enjoy it, but think it should be included on something this price.

I've given up on them making a great first party case for these and have a wonderful third party one.

This is nails on a chalkboard every time this happens for me.

Case is great. Don't revert to a full-blown case. Don't care about on/off, usb-c.. the same old complaints.

The only priority, in my view: make them lighter.

Having only had mine for about 12 hours, for me USB-C and Bluetooth 5.3 would be the main updates I would like to see. I don't mind the bra case as I bought a sturdy third party one for travel, but a nicer case would certainly not be something I sneered at. :)

This is nails on a chalkboard every time this happens for me.
The clacking pretty much stopped after I stretched the headband to reduce and even out the clamping force. Now there's about an inch separating the earcups when they're folded flat.

A complete re-design for a start. The idea of joining the headband to the cup at the top, for example, is irremediably flawed and compromises build quality, reliability, comfort and sound quality.
