Sure, the 8800M supposed to be released this summer and its obvious that it will trump over the 8600M GT and the 8700M in most benchmarks,

but Nvidia got this high end beast to consume 22 watts? WOW!!!!!

the only question is heat? i could assume 22 watts wouldn't give so much heat

Nvidia says "The GeForce 8M Series for enthusiast will be released in the summer"

Only if Apple would implement this in their next macbook pro update.

so, is this reality, possible, or insane??

thats a little. I wish apple had at least thrown in an 8700 into the MBP, the 8600 kind of sucks.

You delusional. 8600 is best money can buy right now and I want to tell it one more time. MBP is NOT a gaming laptop. Go XPS if all you want on your laptop is Oblivion etc.

Its still not bad for gaming, its just not the best. I have a friend who can run BF2 on his Core Duo MPB at I believe...medium settings very well. He games quite well on it.

Reality? Not now, but when released.
Possible? That Apple will use it? I very much doubt that, all this "OMG GAMERS DON'T BUY APPLE MACHINES" and so on doesn't help.. I would still think that 22 watt is quite much to handle, I guess it would be possible to somehow underclock it a lot when using battery and then let it free when on wall outlet or something, maybe.

But seriously, have you touched a 60 watt light bulb? It gets rather hot doesn't it? And then atleast some energy leaves as light.

34 watt core 2 duo + 22 watt gpu + 5? watt hdd + some other stuff = ?

Insane? Insanely sweet to have it in a laptop? Hell yeah :D
Atleast if it doesn't give you burns, which it might do :/

The 8600 doesn't "kinda suck", also what are the power requirements for the 8600?

The 8700 only seems to be a higher clocked 8600, I guess the 8800 will have more stream processors thought, if there will be as many as in a real 8800 I have no idea. Those have 96?

Also they have to balance between price and battery life time vs performance and heat.

I think it's totally retarded to only put in 128MB vram there thought, but I guess that's another story, and with the mac games 128MB seems just fine anyway.

Please explain how one of the fastest laptop video cards available today "kind of sucks".
Easy: It doesn't beat the Dell XPS when it comes to gaming.

That's the only reason I can think of. If we accepted a fatter case with more noise apple could do it aswell.
