I have always been accustomed to open source or freeware versions of many popular card games and board games on Windows. There appear to be plenty of common board games (chess, backgammon, etc) available, but when i looked around for poker, I just couldn't find a Texas Hold'em/7-Card Stud, etc poker for Mac OS X (universal or intel) except for the "online" ones, or "video poker". I just want one I can play at anytime, anyplace against computer opponents. The closest I have found is Poker Academy Pro, but it is meant for people to practice for actual tournaments and is not free!

If there really isn't one out there, I may just have a project on my hands then! I haven't developed anything for Mac before, but I might do a little research and give it a try.

Look for a widget, called Scenario Poker it is 8 handed and if you won the table you would move to a new table with a higher chip count. It is free, and you played against the computer. Its in the Apple Top 50, so you should be able to find it at apple.com
