iPhone What GPS, SatNav do you use?

I was on android and bought CoPilot UK and it was awesome.

one off payment and yours for life (as long as stay with same platform)
Free map updates!

NO internet required to use it as maps stored on device.
Only uses your location via GPS.

No I have swapped to IOS so need to buy it again, think £29 or £39 cannot remember now.

Before I do....

What do you guys/gals use?

I like copilot as no internet as have very little on my plan so was good option.
down side is local stored maps, which if you buy all of Europe was about 12GB!

I only have a 16GB iphone but I only want UK maps so not a problem.

Copilot is used at least here in UK anyway in about 80% of those little things you sign when postman/courier comes.

Just looking for options before I buy.

Just use google maps or apple maps to do the navigation. Pretty sure it doesn't use data unless it needs to, in which case there is a good reason for needing data. I think it downloads your route when you start it and then uses that and GPS apart from when its checking other routes. CoPilot obviously can't take traffic, accidents etc into account if its not using data.

Thats wrong both google and apple maps chew your data. I use Tom Tom Go, very good navigation. Only drawback is their yearly subscription fees. Its been updated very regularly for maps updates.

Get "Here" from the apple store. It is free has offline maps and gets regular updates. it was originally owned by NOKIA but was sold to a group which includes BMW and Mercedes Benz.

For offline maps check 'Here We Go' app (former 'Here'), otherwise Waze - both of them are free and they getting updates regularly.

I'm not against paying for a good service.

Copilot on android was great but wanted see what ios had.

Will look at here we go, if not like it will go back to my faithful copilot.

Oh and copilot will accept tomtom pio as well just dump in same folder and it auto imports them.

I like Waze in the US, I believe it's in UK too. I sometimes use google maps so I can see the overall route and traffic, or to see why Waze routed me a different way. It warns me of speed traps (as noted by other users), lets me set ahead and reminds me of commute times. I can have it notify others of my ETA and they can follow.

It has saved me many hours by avoiding traffic nightmares.

1 thing I don't like - it doesn't tell me that the route was affected by a traffic issue. It just guided me on a different route. I've learned to trust it, but judging by reviewing Google maps helps.

Copliot if you pay for active traffic and use 3g/4g then will get real time updates and will redirect you.

Copilot lets you set way points and even lets you avoid certain roads, e.g. toll booths etc.

just needs a little thinking before setting off.

I have only ever used copilot.
And after showing my friend who goes to spain regularly, he now has a 10" tablet on his RV dash for sat nav when he goes to spain.

If you use Google Maps, you can use the "Offline Areas" funciton to download huge swaths of map... and you can even navigate turn by turn (car only) with no data. However, if data is available, it will still try to pull down traffic conditions, etc.

Google maps almost all the time, but waze if traffic seems particularly bad, and navigon if I need offline access for some reason.

Tom Tom Go.
Subscription for 3 years is around €30, but you can download worldwide maps and it includes traffic and speed cams.
Just used it for vacation in the US and Canada.
You can test is for 75km free of charge.
