This exists in the Music app. And it was a slide in the keynote. Are there no editors or people willing to say no on the iTunes team?

Yeah that kinda bugged me too. They missed out on an opportunity to use the really cool new share/action sheets from iOS 8. At least you don't have to scroll through the options though like on spotify

Yeah that would be a better implementation. But I think it's evidence how bloated the music app is.

Bloated or fully featured? Because half of those controls (up next and add to queue etc) were widely requested back on the old music app. Although I dunno if the song cells are tall enough, but a slide to the left queue/play next button, similar to the ones in mail.app, would have been cool and help alleviate some of the density in the menu

I don't see one option on that list that isn't useful.

The implementation...well, it's not the worst thing in the world.

Seems as bad as the hamburger menu Apple hates. Maybe an action sheet format would work better?

People whine about not having these features... they are implemented and people then whine about how they are implemented... Goodness I hate you lot :p

All useful features however bloated. Still, it's only a beta and this is what betas are for. Feedback.

You will only be shown that screen if you are wanting to perform one of those actions.

If that screen was constantly on like that then yes it would be annoying but you have to prompt that screen and can dismiss it if you no longer need it.

So basically like Spotify but less annoying because you don't have to scroll to get all the options.

Seriously Spotify, I have a 6+, show everything on screen. This isn't the 3.5" era any more.

LOL I think people just want an :apple: implementation. Any hack can write an app with a cluttered screen full of touch buttons. We just expect better from Apple.

Beta is the operative word. I would venture to bet a decent sum that the final iteration of the menu will not look like that screenshot.
