What happened to Spotlight Search?

Instead of looking like this

my spotlight search now looks like this, a single bar with no icons below it, how do I restore it?

I think it hides that information panel after a while, because it’s not really necessary. Spotlight Suggestions should still be working.

You won't see any results, until you type something, set up with whatever categories that you have set in your Spotlight preferences.
There will be more icons than in the sample graphic that you showed in your OP- depends on what you search for.
