Will it let you buy it if you live in the states? Would there be problems with it?
is also hoping to make out with the exchange rate for about a 1/3 price difference wouldn't be a bad plan if were simple. you could go though the hassle to fake your IP as well but as others said they want a New Zealand billing address.![]()
That is assuming that TomTom isn't taking the exchange rate into account and won't price the US version of the US&Canada maps for $89.99 (next highest price point over $84.41.)
Apps that are US$0.99 are NZ$1.29 in the New Zealand appstore. Chances are, the TomTom app (US Maps) will be US$99.99.
The appstore pricing was fixed when the appstore came out at the current exchange at the time, which is a large bonus, as it was actually a very good price. Compare with what we pay for US$0.99 songs in the iTunes store - NZ$1.79.
Thats only if they use the same application bundle. If they submit a new binary for the US market, they can price it whatever they want, it doesn't have to remain in line with the NZ pricing..
