I'm moving to the US from Canada and was wondering what happens to my Apple ID, iCloud Music Library, iCloud Photo Library, Apple Music, apps, etc?

Does it transition easily? Is there any procedures I need to do in order to transfer my stuff to another country? Thanks

You can keep the same Apple ID. Only the country changes. The iCloud Music Library also stays the same., including the Photo Library.

I recently made the change from US to the Indian store. When I contacted the Apple reps regarding the process, they asked me to download and keep a copy of all my apps, movies and music as they may be lost once the transition takes place.

Even if you have not downloaded the apps, do not worry. As long as the apps you want are available in the US app store, you can download them without having to buy them again. Just a heads up though, while trying to download an app already purchased, say iMovie, the App Store will show the full price of the app. You have to follow the usual process associated with purchasing any app but just at the last step you'll get a pop up saying that 'Update is free as you already own this app.

Hope this helps. Had a tough time myself when I was planning a change.

How do you change region for the store? I thought your address and credit card on Apple id account associates to that region - e.g. if I use US address, it connects you to the US store. If you want to switch to say Indian store then you need an Indian address and credit card.
I am currently traveling in India and still logged in to the US store with US address and credit card, and can download previous purchases.
However, when I tried to switch to the Indian store, it doesn't take my US credit card even though the credit card company says its valid for international purchases.
Can you share how did you switch the store?

Yes. You are correct that the Apple ID is associated with the address and the card from a particular region as you've mentioned. I was able to shift my store as I had an India address and a pre-paid card for the Indian store. However, one cannot use a card from the US to make purchases in the Indian App store though.

Do note once you change the store from one country to another, you are stuck with that store for the next 3 months.

To change your store, follow these steps(using a computer):
1. From the iTunes Account menu, choose View Account.
2. Enter your Apple ID password.
3. In the Apple ID Summary section, click Change Country or Region.
4. Choose your new country from the menu, and click Change.
5. Click Continue.
6. Read the Terms and Conditions and the Apple Privacy Policy. If you agree, select "I have read and agree to these terms and conditions," and click Agree.
7. Enter the billing information for your new country, and click Continue.
8. Click Start Shopping.

Using an iOS device:
1. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
2. Follow the onscreen process to change your region, agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information.
