So... say I get a 768x1024 image for my iPad's wallpaper, and then flip it 90 degrees. I know the icons will shift, but what happens to the wallpaper?

It also flips and the crop changes. It works fine for most pictures. You can tweak if needed.

Just crops the wallpaper to the appropriate size. The sides get cut off in portrait, and the top and bottom get cut off on landscape.

Basically it gets cropped to proportion.

Anyone else notice that the wallpaper is blurry in portrait but sharp in landscape? I am using 1920x1200 photos, so it should have enough resolution in both directions. Any ideas?

Resize the image to 1024x1024 and you shouldn't have an issue. I found the same when using larger images.
