I love the changes in iOS10 so far, especially the cards (I know I'm in the minority on that one), but my god what has happened to the battery life?!

It was bad before but now it's awful! I installed the OTA update on my 6S while I was at 100%, by the time it was done it dropped to 86%, now I've been listening to music for about an hour and I'm on 67%!

I have 1 hour 4 mins usage, 1 hour 20 mins standby. The section that's supposed to show what's using power doesn't seem to be working "Information will be available after using IPhone for a few minutes".

It wouldn't index etc... again after an OTA update would it? What could be causing this drain?

It does still have to index after an OTA update and that is most likely the cause of the drain.

The IOS 10 GM was putting a hurt on my battery life even after 2 days of using it. Glad I'm waiting for more battery drain reports before I upgrade. I was using a iPhone 6s. I went back to 9.3.5 and battery is back to normal.

Give it a few charge cycles and days to see how things are preforming on average and an ongoing basis.

A lot of things are happening in the background as and immediately after your phone installs a major update. You CANNOT assume that the battery life in the first few hours is typical. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions either way for a couple of days.

I found the first day after installing iOS 10 (GM I've had it since last week) my battery life was not great as I suspect there are a few background things going on. After a full night on the charger battery life was back to normal (and truthfully slightly better than iOS 9). Don't sweat it unless the problem continues...

Interesting, thanks for the replies. I've never experienced (or noticed) this sort of massive drain after an OTA update before.

Luckily I can plug in and charge while I listen to music at work ;)

iPhone 6. iOS 10. Battery draining very quickly and phone runs very hot. I'll provide more info in a day's time.

Try restarting. And yeah, keep an eye on it over the next few days and charge cycles.
