Other than penryn (kind of a given), I'd like to see them up the GPU to a Mobility Radeon HD 3600. This thing seems quite a bit more powerful than the current nVidia 8600 GT's. Just look at the specs. What about you guys, what do you want?

That would be very nice, but I'm really in no position to complain as the most I can afford is the mid level MacBook.:D

I am happy with my MBP but if I were looking to buy I would like to see:
Increase HDD capacity
Option for SSD
Black color option

On Tuesday im hopefully looking for.

-increased speed along with penryn update
-faster hard drive and bigger capacities
-maybe a new keyboard and latch display
-a black option would be awesome too

HD 3600 is unlikely to happen in the upgrading

but i would love to see a black coloured MBP ( this is the only update that can make me feel guilt of not waiting for the Mac World )

and prolly Nvidia 8800 GTX or ATi HD 2600/2900 ( 2nd list of update that also will make me feel bad for not waiting )

other than that, i dont see anymore neccesarry upgrade needed in the current MBP

I don't think the GPU will be replaced, but maybe they will up the VRAM. Maybe 256MB on the base model and 512MB on the other 2 models.

I'm looking for increased CPU speeds, bigger base Hard Drive spec, and maybe a higher resolution display.

I've just sold a brand new 2.2GHz MBP to fund a new one when the come out so Apple better make it good :)

The 8800 and 2900 are too power hungery, hot, and expensive. The 2600 isn't that amazing compaired to the 8600 or 3600, so the 3600 seems like a good choice if they want to update the GPU.

the 2600 isn't that amazing compared to the current 8600?

why are you saying so?

it is obvious that 2600 is way better than the 8600 GT

but again, my guess is, MBP will be using Nvidia GPU for the next 2-3 generations

although im a fan of ATi GPu's but oh well

8600 rocks enough for the future gaming ( though still love to see 2600/2900 )

with penryn, why not?

Wishlist:
1) Adjust the Canadian prices to match the exchange rate.
2) MBP's with user replaceable hard drive
3) Better GPU to play C&C3 :)

Otherwise I'm pretty happy with my MBP.

We have been saying this since the first iteration of the MacBook Pro. Of course, wouldn't hurt if it actually happened heh.

I hope you all realize that the Mobility HD 3600 is just a die-shrinked Mobility HD 2600 with added (and useless) DirectX 10.1 support, right?

65nm to 55nm.

I would rather want a lower clocked Mobility HD 3800 fit inside a Thermal Design Power of 25 Watt but I am dreaming heh.

The Geforce 8600M GT and the Mobility HD 2600 are trading blows in several benchmarks. I wouldn't call one the winner over the other.
