I miss the ability to send an icard. That feature saved me more than once and should seriously be considered for a return to active use! What feature do you miss from the defunct dot mac? :apple:

The ability to access and edit bookmarks online
The ability to access me.com from my office (a lot of companies sadly still use MSIE 6).
The ability to access my e-mail (I'm one of the unhappy few, going into the second week of no service)

I miss iCards. It was a very quick and convenient way send a quick greeting.

And I miss my online bookmarks. I don't always have my macbook with me. It was a nice feature that you could access your bookmarks from every computer.

Stability

I had .mac for 2 years and can only remember one time my .mac email went down

I can't even remember one time an email didn't go through or I didn't receive something sent to me

MobileMe has accomplished all of that multiple times in 2 weeks

Groups

I miss Groups. I had big plans for our Cub Scout pack this fall.

What I miss? A product that has focus.
I don't use groups, but I can see why people are ticked off about it.
The thing with MobileMe is this: I don't get what their mission is anymore. On one hand, they want to be friendly to the home user, but then they ditch the groups and put in sync "support" for Outlook. I'm a windows / Outlook user...so I don't mind that feature...if it actually worked properly.
They're now (partly) catering to business users who happen to use macs, but replacing the domain name to something an 6 year old might like (me.com is a bit goofy even for that age).
Other companies have tried to make products that were "all things to all people"...but it usually ends up with a lot of sub-par quality features. Focusing on a specific need WAS Apple's strength...but with the push for growth, they're trying sneak their way into business. But business requires backwards compatability...something Apple needs to look at (and start getting used to if they want to be in that game). Its why Vista didn't fare well with corporate IT depts.

Second-guessing here, but I'd bet that iCards (which I used rarely) and Groups (never used) may have been low-demand compared to the rest of the dot Mac features. Meaning that in the initial MM roll-out some things had to be sacrificed in order to meet a delivery date, and the things that were used the least were first to be chopped.

Even though I had no real need for them, I thought they were nice little add-ons, and hope (and sorta expect) to see them--and other new features--as time rolls on in the MM lifespan.

I missed .Mac and the fact that it actually worked. *sigh*

Same for me alphaod
+ I miss "groups" and Bookmarks fonctionalities, I didn't used icards
+ my adressbook doesn't work well.

+ MobileMe is just NOT the same product
Apple should have keep .mac for the customer who like it...
and launch a second product: Mobile me for the customer who need it...
It is called "market segmentation", simple ?

Not long ago Apple was the master of marketing, what are they doing ???

Is "snow leopard" a well choosen name ? :D
Does Apple really want to put itself in the position of an "threatened and endangered Species" by it's own mistakes ?
I hope not, I do not want to buy my first PC. But for the moment I'll not renew my subscription finishing in 2 days time, I've opened some gmail accounts today for my family :(

An ex Apple fanboi

Well-stated.

iCards was pretty cool. It did save me on some occasions. Same for the free downloads available only to members. it offered free loops to garageband/logic pro users; w/c are not available elsewhere; nor anywhere now for that matter.
