Hi,
I am using Macbook Pro retina with 10.8 Mountain lion.
I am new to Mac OS. I just want to know is there anything on mac os like " password reset disk " (as in windows.)
In windows it allows you to save a file on some pen drive and it doesn't matter how many times you change the password, if you forgot the password just insert the pendrive and you can reset the password.
Now I know my administrator password to login to my mac, but what if I forgot? Is there anything like that on Mac OS.

Thanks.

Or just pop in a SL disc and boot to the disc and that has an option to change/over ride any passwords on your mac. I was soooo lucky to have this feature as I backed up my mac on a time capsule then did a clean install, but the password for my time capsule was on my actually saved in my backup and I didnt know what it was :eek::eek: Lucky for me I could over ride it easily enough though

Very easy.

Turn on your mac, hold option. Select your recovery drive from the boot menu, open Terminal via Utilities, type:

resetpassword

Follow instructions, confirm, done.
