ok so i jailbroke my 2.2.1 3g recently, but what if a new update comes out? if i update to that will all of the quickpwn software just go away? will it not allow me to update? will it update but no longer be jailbroken?

what happens?

If you update your iPhone to the latest version (2.2.1), your jailbreak will be undone. However, you will still be able to re-jailbreak it. BUT, as far as I know at this time, you will be unable to Unlock it to use on any network.

So, if you're not planning on Unlocking your phone any time soon, feel free to update your iPhone and re-jailbreak. =)

You can read more at http://quickpwn.com .

If you update you WILL lose at least 500MB of space, and there could be other unforeseen issues.. Always DFU restore to Apple firmware (or a Custom IPSW), wait for the Dev Team to give us the all clear, upgrade to the new firmware, then re-Jailbreak. :)

well i have 2.2.1 and its unlocked (so thats the latest update i think?)

so for now everything is gravy, however i was just talking for future reference... i saw talks of a 3.0 software coming out so thats kinda what i was talking about, if that came out, and im currently jailbroken on 2.2.1 what could i do to update to 3.0?

the only thing i care about on my phone are the contacts.... music and everything else i can just add back via itunes....
