Someone correct me if im wrong, but were basing ALL the information we have now on that guys post on twitter?

EXCLUSIVE: My Sources: New iMacs en route by ocean to U.S. available end of April or 1st week of May. No major cosmetic changes.

- My sources say New iMacs will feature Sandy Bridge and Thunderbolt. No other specifics.

- We'll see if this pans out, but I'm highly confident in my source. If you're looking for a new iMac. WAIT FOR IT!

Ok so he states hes CONFIDENT in his source... that doesnt mean anything that were believing right now is true for sure...

What if were all waiting here until... June and an iMac comes out that doesnt even have sandy bridge.... most likely will have thunderbolt though.... but still. Im sorry for my negative views but its true.

WERE BASING ALL OF OUR CURRENT IMAC INFO ON ONE GUYS TWEET.

No, we're also basing the info on the evidence seen in the recent Macbook Pros. With a bigger chassis design, why couldn't the new iMacs have Sandy Bridge?

iMac wil have sandybridge, there's no reason for it to not have sandybridge.

And on Apple's history. It doesn't require much brain to conclude that iMac will be updated in the upcoming months. I have said April-May ages before that tweet. Why? Because it makes sense. Lately, iMacs have updated every ~9 months. The last update was in July, so around 9 months ago.

Do we know that it will happen in April or May? Absolutely not. But an update in April or May makes the most sense based on prior updates.

MBPs got Sandy Bridge so it is pretty damn sure that iMacs will too. There is zero good reasons why Apple would not. They could just skip the update if they weren't going to update anything.

Exactly. All im saying is that people seem to take some of this stuff as official announcements.

People will believe what they want to believe. Don't listen to anything anyone says unless its fro ma reputable source or they have hard evidence to back it up.

but if you want to believe them

So what...

When the refresh comes out and if it doesn't have something folks thought for a fact it would, then they will be sorely disappointed. The rest of us will not. It's their problem, not yours... relax a little. :)

No doubt it will have sandy bridge and thunderbolt. But what I really want to know is what video cards it will have available. I'm hoping for a Radeon 6970m

I'd also like to know what is included at what price point. If they are going to now make a 2tb standard. 8gb ram standard? That would be nice.

Perhaps they could announce pre-orders on Tuesday even if they aren't shipping yet.

High end will most likely have 6950m, but you can just overclock it a small amount in windows to make it 6970m.

I agree that's most likely.

I wonder how a 6950m would compare to my desktop 460GTX? I haven't been able to find any mobile to desktop video card comparisons and I am curious if it would be an upgrade for me. Hopefully not a downgrade. My 460 I would only call adequate for driving a resolution of 1920x1200(for the games I play at the settings I want to play them at) so for the higher resolution of the 27" imac i'm going to want more power.

I'm curious about what graphics card the low end will have and how much memory. If the base iMac is $1,199 with 256 mb of vram, I'll be

the low end 21.5 inch will probably have a Graphic card with 256, why would they include a 512 or yet higher graphic card on the Low end model?

Now if the 27 inch Base model had a 256mb graphic then it would be a problem but i doubt it will because it needs a better graphic card due to the resolution and larger display.

And we are not basing this on a tweet guys, there are signs all around, macbooks got sandy bridge and so will the imac, no questions asked.

Forget it dude - Radeon 6970m is a very expensive video card as it is, so only expect to get it as a BTO option in the high end iMac model !!

A BTO option is exactly what I would expect and that is just fine with me. Already have wife approval to get a maxed out 27" imac.
