For example, we have multiple bedrooms, bathrooms. In a situation where I want to control the lights, how would I tell Siri to turn off all the lights in a specific bedroom?

I have an Apple TV and HomePod in my bedroom which both act as a hub, so when I say the command "Hey Siri turn on my lights" I'm assuming it would only turn on the lights that are in bedroom since thats what my HomePod and Apple TV are assigned to. But let's say I wanted to control lights in another bedroom, then how would I do that?

In the Home app, you create and name the rooms, and you specify which rooms the devices are in. So you can say things like "turn on the master bedroom lights".

First you need to give each bedroom it’s own specific name. Then when you ask Siri to turn off the lights you need to say, “Hey Siri, turn off the <specific bedroom name> lights.

Carefully name your rooms. Rooms you use often I would recommend keeping them simple.

For example my master bedroom and master bedroom are called bedroom and bathroom. So my other bedroom and bathroom I called guest bedroom and and guest bathroom.

Naming devices is the same way. "Ceiling fan light" can be a pain. However if that's the only light you can call it light, or if the other light is a lamp then call the ceiling fan light "light" and the lamp a "lamp". Confused yet?

The more specific you can be the more consistent and a reliable everything will be.

You are so correct about naming. I named the top light “Floor Lamp” and the gooseneck light “Desk Lamp”. It made things so much better. I had to learn this lesson the hard way. Now when I add new HomeKit devices I think diligently before I do so.
