Does anyone know what information was required to reserve a wifi only iPad?
Name?, credit card?, apple account?

Because the chances that the 3g will be announced today make it possible I'll have to reserve one at school, if apple even offers it

I'm pretty sure it's just like buying one...you give all your info and essentially the reservation means you get one shipped when it's in stock and that's when they charge your card.

no, I mean reserve one for purchase in store like they did for the wifi models
people who reserved weren't required to pay till they were physically in the apple store

if its like any other promotional reservations (christmas etc) then its name and email, possibly Tel number. Perhaps select a time of day you will go in store to collect. All they do is put a certain number aside so they have enough to cover reservations. I don't think they put your name on it for you. It would take too long to find John Smiths device amongst several hundred others. If you don't collect it by store closing, it then goes back into general stock for anyone to buy.

I just did this today. All you do is log into your iTunes account and that's it. Choose what model you want. Done.
They email you when it's in and you have 24hr to pick it up.
The guy said every shipment they get in is going out to the people who did the in store reservation.

Has anyone else done this for the wifi? What kind of turn around times did you see?
I don't know if I shoulda just ordered online or not..

Thanks man! That's exactly the kinda thing I wanted to hear!

The Apple store guy couldn't tell me anything. How often they got shipments, If a lot of people were in front of me, If I'd be better off ordering online... Nothing.
Thanks again for replying. I'm hoping to see it Saturday (wishful thinking) or Monday.
(placed reservation at 6pm today)

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't think the iPad 3G is available for in-store reserve. I think your choices are order online and get delivery by May 7, or show up at an Apple Store or Best Buy on April 30, stand in line and take your chances.

Available for purchase in those stores starting at 5PM. No reserves.

reserved my wifi ipad in the store, just log into your apple account and register one. took mine 48 hrs to come to the store.

Wow that would be sweet!
I really hope I get it Sometime this weekend.
Do you think sunday is out of the question? I would assume Apple only gets shipments Mon-Sat.
