Curious to know what you all landed on now that they’re out and you’ve possibly interacted with them or got them in your hands.
2021 Pro models only.

12.9" mini led M1 beast for me, day one purchase, screen is absolutely gorgeous. 👌

12.9” for sure. The perceived issues appear a bit overbloomed to me. Just got done watching ‘Tenet’, and it was an absolute joy. Not to say the blooming doesn’t exist, more that I didn’t even notice it until the end credits. Coming from a 2018 11” IPP, this thing is everything I hoped it would be.

Absolutely spot on, don’t notice any blooming unless I go looking for it, too busy enjoying this sexy screen to do that.

Question is do you need 256gb? I’ve still got 116gb available on my 128gb model lol.
Well that’s what I keep trying to figure out. With this big of screen I was thinking about Gamepass and my Xbox controller to play games in it. Idk if you need to download those or how it works?

mom afraid game downloads will take a lot of memory. I have movies I would like to install but maybe I can just install the ones I want to watch while traveling.

i currently have 128 on my first gen iPad Pro but I’ve not installed much because I knew I didn’t have the space. I have 57giga free of 128 on that iPad. But it’s all pictures and videos, don’t think I have any movies or games downloaded.

Not sure how gamepass works.

57gb ain‘t much maybe go with the 256gb.

i got the 11" (2021) iPad Pro with 256GB. when i unboxed it i thought i had made a mistake because it looked so small but now after a day of using it I just can't imagine using a 12.9" model. it feels just the right screen size and as for weight... i think i'd hate having to hold something 216g heavier. the 11" ain't heavy but holding it with one hand i need to be cautious. i'd only go for the 12.9" if i was going to use it with a stand/magic keyboard so i don't need to be supporting it myself.

the screen on the 11" is impresive. sure the blacks can't compete with Mini LED or OLED but i don't even care about blacks most of the time. it's only when i've been watching YT/Netflix but after 5 minutes i stopped caring. the screen is great.

i was also originally gonna get the 1TB model but i don't need anywhere near that. i only wanted it for 16GB. again i feel i made the right decision here. i've got everything i want installed in it and only used about 33GB so far lol. I'd probably be just fine with the 128GB but went with 256GB cause my iPhone is 256GB and my PC is 250GB (not including my drive for games). i've pushed the iPad hard the last 24 hours and i can't see any reason why i would ever need 16GB.

12.9” for me right after I saw that fun mission scene in the event. I love it. Bright clear pictures etc. It was definately worth waiting for coming from a 256gb 12.9” first gen iPad Pro. Here’s a screenshot of my Lock Screen :) Looks clear and sharp to me :).

I will be honest, I am absolutely jealous of the 12.9” screen after seeing all the photos and videos, but I just can’t handle the size comfortably. 11” it is for me and as soon as Apple upgrades the screens on these too, I will be the first to pre-order.

The XDR display was the reason for me to go 12.9” and for the first time I’m happy with going for the bigger model. I preferred the 11” on previous generations.

Once XDR comes to the 11” IPP I’ll be back to using that unless the bigger model has a differentiating feature that makes it worth carrying the extra weight other than screen size alone.

I’m keeping the 12.9” because realistically both are too heavy to use in my hands for long periods throughout the day for me. Might as well have the one with a big screen that I don’t want to hold if I am trying not to hold it.

Don’t see any blooming unless I go looking for it by raising brightness well above the comfortable level and looking at white text on black.

11 for sure. After looking at the two side-by-side I found that the 12.9 isn’t the second coming of Christ like a lot of people seem to make it out to be, especially for regular every day viewing. They looked very very similar quality-wise to me. Yes, I did check out some HDR and that’s where the 12.9 is noticeably better, but if I’m watching HDR content then 95% of the time I’m watching it on my OLED TV, not an iPad.

I had a 12.9 before that I just never could get used to, always felt like I was dragging around a cookie sheet. Portability is king for me, choosing the 11 was easy.

same thoughts here. i already posted above but i just can't imagine using a 12.9" iPad now. the 11" is just right in screen size/weight. yeah the display isn't better but it's by no means bad. it's a fantastic display. the biggest difference between my 12 Pro Max + OLED TV is when watching movies/youtube. the "glowing" blacks distracted me at first but i just don't care anymore. they aren't that bad for a LCD with a very shiny glass display finish the blacks are impressive. if i want the best picture quality i'll watch a movie on my LG CX. even if i did get a 12.9" i'd still go to my TV because Mini LED can't touch OLED. either way whatever model i got it wouldn't be my primary device for watching HDR.

Well I ended up going to the Apple store and buying the 11", and will return the 12.9 today. It came down to size.. I already have a MBP, no need for another 13" sized device. I think for me and for one handed use, the 11" is perfect.

I opted for the 12.9, after using a 10.5 IPP and while its big - really big, I have see no reason to return/exchange it. I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

I chose the 11” for my use case. I was disappointed initially that my iPad wouldn’t have the new screen but I’m very happy with my choice. My screen is perfect in color and evenness and I know blooming and shadows would bug me.

That wallpaper meant to be the door to mini led heaven?🤔😂
Always 😂😂. My home screen background I’ll be changing it regularly to try and find that perfect picture to go with the app clutters. 😆😆

yep this, I was setting up my 2021 unit right next to the 2020 and I am an anime junkie so anime backgrounds and it was more crisp on the 2021 and it was just the wallpaper.....
