Since Google stopped licensing Microsoft ActiveSync for native push notifications with the iPhone's built-in email app, what do most of you GMail users use for email? I've tried using the GMail app and Mailbox but both have their own issues. I find the GMail app to be slow to load new emails plus no actionable notifications, and no unified inbox. The Mailbox app isn't bad but has a bunch of minor bugs that add up to make a not so great experience. I can't use Inbox by GMail since it doesn't work for Google Apps accounts yet so what other options are available (keeping in mind that instant push notifications are a must)?

The other annoying thing is that without using the built in email app, there's no way to send emails directly from third party apps (ex: emailing a link from Twitter or an RSS app). I've switched back from Android and this is my biggest annoyance so far...so what solutions do you guys have? Thanks.

If you have your Gmail account in both mail and the Gmail app then it wouldn't matter which one you send it through.

I'm jailbroken so I can get Gmail just about instantly in the Mail app using the Push for Gmail tweak.

From observing the Acompli app it seems it's virtually as fast as push when it comes to receiving Gmail. Its attachment handling/manipulation is a thing of beauty, also.

I use Google Inbox...

but also have the Gmail account set up in the traditional way, set to manual refresh. This is so I can send emails via other apps when needed.
