This is my first post. Here's my question. With an express card, are you able to connect to the internet through your cell phone provider? Verizon has the broadband network that lets you hop online wherever you have a cell phone signal. Does an express card allow you to do that or is there something else? Thanks for your help. This a deciding factor for me getting or not getting a MacBook Pro.

I think you mean mini PC card, it called express card also. The only think I know about it is that its basically a mini version of PCMCIA. Also the airport express uses the mini PC card interface, although its only compatible with airport only.

Yep, ExpressCard is a newer replacement for the old (and now slow) PC Card interface. It has enough bandwidth to do up-to-date networking or video. Available cards and what you can do with them will depend entirely on what manufactures feel like producing.

Official propaganda here.
