hi
i keep hearing of Apache and i really dont know what it is cause im a nub. Can someone give me like an overview of what it is and how to use it?

thanks

It's software that runs as a web server. It's very good. You can Google for more info, or check out their website.

http://www.apache.org/

Actually, Apache HTTP Server is their web server. Apache is the organization, which holds many awesome applications. Their web server is the most popular though so tends to be synonymous with Apache.

nitpick much?

so once you make a site on that domain can you like give it a .com name? or do you need a hosting service?
