Im real sorry for asking this, I am sure its been asked a million times over. I did try a google search however didnt find what I was looking for within the ~15 minutes i looked.

I plan to buy two Macbook Air's, one for me and one for my sister as a graduation present. I am waiting for the new models for myself, however she graduates this weekend and would like to give her the actual computer on that day. If I buy her a macbook air today how long do I have to return it / exchange it for the new model if it releases relatively soon?

Don't buy now. Be creative with how you tell her. Too much could
Go wrong. It could get a scratch, dent, the release may be more than 14 days. Get her a car with a picture. Then tell her she can go and choose one with you the day they are released.

I've heard if you're really nice about it, it can be up to 30 days. The regular exchange is 14, yes, but I have heard plenty of stories about an unspoken Apple policy that exchanges for refreshed items within 30 days.

But I am with everyone else. I know you want to have her have it in hand (you're an awesome brother, btw :)), but you really should just wait it out. The card (or car, even) with a picture in it is a nice idea. You can also just get her a gift card for the amount as it's likely the price won't fluctuate too much (if at all), with the new refresh.

Apple's return policy is 14 days. A new MacBook Air lineup refresh is expected right around late July, early August, right around the time the Mac mini refresh is due. If you want to know for yourself how long Apple's return policy is, visit the the 'Returns & Refunds' page by clicking here. Hope you found this helpful!
