Since Black Friday is only a few days away, I was holding off purchasing the quad Imac until then. But waiting in line for hours to save $101 does not appeal to me. It's a work day and I don't have that much time to spare.

For those of you that have been to these events, what is the wait like and if the product runs out, will they issue a rain check?

In other years, the exact same deals were available at Apple's online store.

Imho, BF is the last day I'd go to the B&M store...

The store is crowded, like others have suggested ordering online makes some sense. For information about Black Friday, check the guide. There are no special t-shirts or anything like that, it's just a sale.

yeah, dont bother going to the store; they will offer the same deals online..
the boygenius "report" is pure nonsense...

and, they do NOT offer "rainchecks", t-shirts, or other nonsense like that, so just order online if there is something you want to buy..unless. of course, you like unruly crowds, and rude shoppers, pushing and hassling you!

Do it online. Waiting in line for hours is only worth it if you NEED the machine right then.

Even then, how much is your time worth?

could u also use student discount on black friday or is it just one discount allowed.

Yeah you can add your education discount, the 25% off BF sale, the employee discount, military discount, and being BFF with Steve Jobs discount all into one to the point you get the iMac free and they give you money just to take it off their hands.

hahah yeah
well then there is no point for me to wait for black friday then to get a new iMac since i get a better education discount then they would have on black friday, i just figured if buying through education store, black friday price would always been reflected but i guess not.

Third party retailers will have larger discounts then Apple.

I'd just wait and see. We all might be suprised by what Apple does. Then again, there's something to be said for having it NOW...
